Calling the situation between the New York Knicks and former Knicks forward Charles Oakley "beyond disheartening", National Basketball Association commissioner Adam Silver enlisted the help of Hall of Famer and Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan to help resolve the issue.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver issued a statement Monday regarding the February 8 incident.

Yet at this meeting both men came together and sorted things out with the commissioner along with a special guest.

Toddler among 2 dead in shooting on Chicago's West Side
The two-year-old boy, identified by U.S. media as Lavontay White , was shot in the head on Tuesday and died later at a hospital. Police have confirmed the authenticity of the video and it is part of their investigation, spokesman Frank Giancamilli said.

Silver met with Knicks owner James Dolan and Oakley at the league office on Monday.

The Knicks subsequently put out two separate statements that were negatively received, published a security report with 16 statements from MSG employees and video evidence of what they said Oakley did.

What followed was a bewilderingly tone deaf PR offensive by Dolan, insinuating Oakley had an alcohol or anger problem and people close to Oakley hinting that he might sue for the damage done to his reputation.

The structure is nearly 50 years old and located upstream from the town of Oroville, which has 16,000 residents. The goal is to lower lake levels by 50 feet in anticipation of the rain, which could come as soon as Wednesday.

"Rev. Sharpton is calling upon Mr. Dolan to lift the ban and reinstate Mr. Oakley's privileges", the statement read.

Oakley, a power forward for the revered Knicks teams of the 1990s, was banned last Friday following the incident in which he was arrested and charged with three counts of misdemeanor assault and one count of misdemeanor trespassing.

Dolan also called Oakley violent and abusive, speculating that he is an alcoholic. It hit a low point when security surrounded Oakley in his seat a few rows behind Dolan during a nationally televised game, and Oakley responded by shoving at least two of the security officials.

Ex-NHLer Mike Comrie in threesome rape probe
According to TMZ , the alleged encounter was part of a threesome and the other woman involved hasn't filed a complaint. Sources told TMZ that Comrie has known the woman "for a long time", and that another woman was involved in the sex.

It is unclear whether Dolan and Oakley have talked directly, but Oakley's camp has made contact with the Knicks one day after the owner ended his feud with Latrell Sprewell in a public display at the Garden.
